LSB#: 131018CC12 Make: Winchester Model: 37 Serial Number: NSN Year of Manufacture: 1936-1948 (Red Letter Model) Gauge: 20 Gauge, 2 ¾” Shells Action Type: Single Shot External Hammer Shotgun with Ejector Markings: The underside of the receiver is marked “WINCHESTER” with red lettering. The left side of the barrel is marked “MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO / NEW HAVEN, CONN. PATENTS PENDING”. Next to that is “MODEL 37 STEELBILT—-20 GA. / WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK / CHOKE 2 3/4” and a Winchester proof on the barrel & receiver. Barrel Length: 28” Choke: The bore measures .591” at the muzzle. Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a steel bead front sight Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are smooth hardwood. There are many scratches, compression marks and handling marks. There are no cracks or losses. The LOP measures 14 ¾” from the front of the trigger to the back of the pliable Ranger recoil pad. The stocks rate in about Very Good overall condition. Type of Finish: Blue Finish Originality: All Original Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion. Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 84% of its metal finish. The finish shows pinprick surface erosion on the barrel and receiver. The trigger guard has a light brown patina. . The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Very Good condition. Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None Our Assessment: An interesting fact we discovered was that during World War II, National Guard soldiers used Winchester Model 37 12 gauge shotguns. From Wikipedia: The Winchester Model 37 (M37) Single Shot Shotgun is a quality American firearm. It was in production from 1936-1963. This model was developed by Winchester with a standard visible hammer action for many years. The Winchester Model 37 uses a top-cocking lever, breakdown type of action with an automatic shell ejector. The first M37 shotguns were delivered on February 10, 1936 according to factory records. Notably M37 shotguns were not serial numbered. CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This C&R eligible shotgun can be transferred in California.

Shipping: UPS Insured shipping will cost $35. To reduce the likelihood of damage during shipping, we may disassemble long guns by removing stocks when it is possible & easy and will not damage the wood or screws. We will also break down takedowns. We have had problems with rough carrier handling breaking the stocks at the wrist, and since we have begun to disassemble, we have not had any breakage. All parts will be individually wrapped. If you would prefer to not have your item disassembled, please let us know as soon as you win the bid. We package all merchandise for shipment on the Monday following the sale. Your item will be shipped within 1 week of receipt of good funds, usually the next day. You will receive an automatic notification with a tracking number upon shipment, to let you know that we have received funds. If you are in Southern California, you are welcome to pick your item up and complete the transfer at our shop in Simi Valley (M-F, 8-4 and Saturday By Appointment). This gun can only be shipped to an FFL or C&R, and it will be shipped from an FFL. It is your responsibility to ensure that the gun is legal to own and receive in your area.
