You are watching: Marlin 30 30 gold trigger value

*

I just purchased a 1969 336 straight stock 30-30 with the gold trigger and a gold ring on the left side of the receiver. From what I have read this model is called a Texan. It is in 90% or better condition. It did have a scope mounted on it but it was removed before the sale and the gentleman had purchased new plug screws to fill in the scope mount screw holes. I thought that the purchase price of $400.00 was a fair value for this rifle. I have two other 336 30-30"s, one a "68 that I paid $300.00 for and the other an "08 or "09 stainless model I bought new for around $500-550. Was this a good price to pay for this "69 30-30 as I don"t know anything about them? Thanks for any help anyone can provide on this.

Thanks for the "Attaboys" guys. Nowadays, what price do these rifles normally sell at on average? GB has two currently listed, a "57 for $600.00 and a K-Mart run Marlin for $549.00.

Thanks dad for taking me hunting."Those who cannot cleanly dispatch their game using a .30-30 are either shooting too far, hunting inappropriate (too large) game, or are simply incompetent." Mic McPhersonhttps://youtu.be/RdLCxnXmuEw

Cool"... Ok little Brother we like to look um over real good and Drool  I"m sure you didn"t get hurt at all on the price you paid . I"d love to get my hands on one of those for $400 bucks er therefore , just because of the straight stock it has , besides the fact it"s a Texan design .... I seen One" in a 30/30 chamberinns , in pretty good condition down here.... just east of Dallas at a Bass Pro shop about 8 years earlier , but they wanted ALMOST" $1000 buck"s for that sucker , and I just handled it for a few min"ns ..... Slobbered All Over It .... and put it back on the rack , and left.... Went back two weeks later to put Some More Slobber on it  and it was gone gone ga ..... Take care man.... Magnum6
I have been looking for a 69 Saddle Ring Texan for a year or more. They are tough to find. Last one I saw was not in great shape and they wanted $569 for it. It was a NEW Haven marked barrel, so it was made in the old plant before the move in March 1969 to NORTH Haven. So What is your barrel Marked as? NEW or NORTH Haven? 69 is my birth year and always look for these. Just pick up my first 69 marked 336 this last week. Its in the mail. Congrats, on your new gun, and nice price to boot. I would NOT pass up that gun any day of the week at $400. I never see ANY Marlin for under $400 in my area now a days. Hayden. PS..... If you ever let it go.....;-) Im your Huckleberry. Sorry, I had too!
I managed to get home at lunch and take these two pics before turning around and heading right back out.

Hayden - It has North Haven stamped on the barrel. Prices aren"t bad as far as 336 30/30"s and 336 35 Rem"s go, $250-$500 depending mostly on condition. As far as deer rifles go, they"re probably priced the cheapest with bolt actions going for a little more $$$. A lot of folks seem to look at the older rifles like they do older cars, more miles means it must be worth less money, and I like doing business with those folks. : ) The gentleman I purchased this rifle from seemed to know his guns though, and we just got along very well so I think he just gave me a good deal. He even knocked $50.00 off his asking price of $450.00. What threw me off was that the barrel is stamped 336, and nothing following for a few spaces and then Cal. 30-30 Win. I thought all Texans were 336T designation. And the serial was also different, it"s 69 XXXXX. The 69 XXXXX isn"t the norm from my other Marlins except maybe the older ones which have different serial number styles.I thought maybe it was a Western Auto or small contracted run Marlin did for a company years ago.Anyways, I posted pics if you want to check it out on this thread.
