You are watching: 2009 chevy silverado seat belt chime disable

I just bought a 2007 Sierra with a 5.3L for use on the farm. It is strictly a work truck and won"t be on the road much. But every time I want to just jump in to run off somewhere I have to buckle just to not listen to the annoying beeper. Does anyone have any experience or ideas of disabling this thing? Definitely looking forward to hearing back on this. Thanks in advance!!

The suggestions above will all work. I have seen guys wrap belt behind seat, works great for what you want. Me personally I wear my belt when driving so don"t think I"m saying I bypass mine cause I don"t. I understand you are on a farm.
Yah, was going to mention just buckle it and sit on it. Could get one from an old junker and click it in too.Thing I like about chess, well atleast nnbs, is the alarm comes on for like 3 beeps every couple minutes. My old Honda and my wife"s corolla chime non stop until you go crazy and buckle up. Wife brought the dog one day to the vet and he jumped in the front seat and was setting it off.
yeah i thought of just sitting on it which is cool cause its reversible for on the road. but i might try to find that sensor. i might add that i always wear it on the highway just dont like the beeping and the little red guy flashing at me when im just messing around the farm or hunting. thanks for the responses
The best and easiest solution imo is to just get another buckle and plug it in. That way the buzzer won"t be on and it"s not modifying the vehicle in any way. That"s what I would do.
