You are watching: 2005 jeep grand cherokee 3.7 transmission control module location

Hello,We have been working on my 2005 Jeep Cherokee for days now. The car is stuck in a low gear. Not sure which one. Drives like it"s stuck in 1st or 2nd. We tried cleaning the board in the gear shift module. Then tried replacing it with one we got from the junk yard. Nothing. Then replaced the front wheel sensors...nothing. The ABS light, Parking Brake light, and engine lights are all on when you drive. We think it"s the TCM (Transmission Control Module) but not sure where to find it in this model. Anyone know?? Thanks in advance!!

You need to tell us which engine, as there are two different transmissions (depending on the engine) and the TCM"s for each are located in different places.

The 3.7"s TCM is located under the dash on the driver"s side. It is a black plastic module with two long slender plugs attached to one end.

Thanks for your help! I’m having a hard time finding that. Is it closer to The door? Or attached to the right side? Or closer to the steering column?

Can you tell me where the TCM for the "05 Hemi Limited 4x4 is located? It"s the only electrical component that I have not laid my hands on trying to fix my shifting issue. I"ve replaced all three sensors, pulled the valve pack to check each solenoid individually, cleaned the shifter switch contacts. Thank you in advance for your help.
I still don’t see the TCM anywhere under the steering wheel dash. Does anyone have an actual photo of it installed and where? Thanks much!!
